Working inside a successful large real estate enterprise is a privilege. I get to practice my skills while being part of US social and economic history. The biggest Recession since the Great Depression had its roots in real estate. There were other causes. Financial systems run amok, sprinkled generously with snake oil deception and old fashioned greed, played a big part too. What matters now is the work of financial and real estate professionals–people dealing with the consequences and rebuilding an industry. Being part of it challenges and inspires me every day. Today the industry has “recovered” but challenges remain ahead. Rebounds always lead to overpricing. The consequences of that phenomenon may be next. History, and projecting from what’s been learned are what this blog is all about.
